A Collaborative, Team Based Approach

Focused guidance for complex clinical, educational, and decision making questions

Neuropsychological consultation provides expert clinical insight without the need for comprehensive testing. These services are intended for individuals, families, physicians, educators, attorneys, and other professionals who are seeking clear, informed guidance related to brain based functioning, diagnostic questions, or appropriate next steps.

Dr. Jennifer Linton Reesman is a board certified Clinical Neuropsychologist with advanced training in brain behavior relationships across the lifespan. Her consultation work is informed by extensive experience in medical, educational, and interdisciplinary settings, with a consistent focus on practical application and clear, thoughtful communication.

Consultation services are advisory in nature and are not a substitute for therapy or emergency care. The emphasis is on assessment, interpretation, and clinical guidance rather than ongoing treatment.

When additional services or referrals are indicated, appropriate recommendations are provided.

Consultations are offered by appointment only. Email is the preferred method of initial contact, allowing for efficient review of the referral question and determination of next steps.

For those seeking expert neuropsychological input to clarify complex concerns or support important decisions, a consultation may serve as an effective starting point.

Consultation Process

Consultation typically begins with a careful review of relevant records and background information.

Depending on the referral question, this may include prior evaluations, medical records, school documentation, or other pertinent materials.

Sessions are conducted either in person in Maryland or, when clinically appropriate, through secure HIPAA compliant telehealth. The process is collaborative and structured, with a focus on providing objective, clinically sound guidance tailored to the specific concerns at hand. Neuropsychological consultations are designed to offer timely and meaningful feedback.

A written consultation summary is provided. This document outlines clinical impressions, relevant considerations, and practical recommendations aligned with the referral question. Written materials are clear, concise, and intended to support families, schools, medical providers, and legal professionals in applying the guidance effectively.

The overall aim of consultation is to reduce uncertainty, support informed decision making, and help individuals and teams move forward with greater confidence in the days ahead.
